The 19th Sunday After Pentecost

October 7, 2007    9:00am

Thank You for sharing this time of worship with us.  We're glad you're here!  Please sign the Friendship Register. Do come again!  If you do not have a local church home, we invite you to make your home with us.  Here you will find Christian love, opportunities for spiritual growth, warm friendships, and an appreciation of being part of God’s family.

The Lord's Supper is being celebrated today. This special meal, instituted by Christ, unites us with Him and our brothers and sisters in the faith. This sacrament is intended for those who are baptized in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; trust in Jesus Christ as the only way to heaven; and believe that the true body and blood of Jesus are present with the bread and wine of Holy Communion.  Guests who share this faith are invited to speak with the pastor before joining us in this holy meal.

Please Don’t Rush Off After The Worship Service.  Stick around for a time of socializing and refreshments.  We hope you are able to stay!  The Education Hour follows at 10:30.  Welcome!

Large Print Hymnals and personal sound devices are available at the usher's station to help make worship more meaningful for those who may appreciate such assistance.  Just ask one of the ushers before the service.

A New Bible Information Class will be starting up in early November.  This course on basic Bible doctrine may be used as a “refresher course” for new or life-long members, young or old.  It is also an introduction to the Bible and our church, leading to membership in the congregation.  If you or anyone you may want to bring along would like to attend, please register by calling the church office (651-645-2575) as soon as possible.

The Music Department at St. Croix Lutheran High School (1200 Oakdale Ave, West St. Paul) invites you to their Fall Concert next Sunday, October 14, at 7:00pm in the gymnasium. Prior to the concert, please join us for the annual Chili/Pie Social from 4:30-6:30pm in the commons. Good food, good music, good fellowship - how can you resist!!

Mark Your Calendars for this year’s Mt. Olive Kraut-‘n’-Rib Supper to be held on Saturday, October 20, beginning at 5:30pm.  The menu will consist of ribs ‘n’ kraut, of course, plus potatoes, gravy, green beans, bread/butter, applesauce, and dessert.  We will also have hot cider, coffee, milk and ice water.  Again this year Thrivent will match funds up to a total of $800.00.  Let’s raise a goodly sum for the local food shelf.  Hope to see you there!  Please sign up on the sheet in the narthex, or e-mail Linda at lkp@cnaengineers.com, so that we have plenty of food for all.
